General
The CBT programme is a six-session programme that teaches you practical skills to understand and manage your symptoms. Think of it as learning how to work with your body rather than against it. Recommended by NICE Guidelines and based on NHS research — it is not therapy. You simply need to show up.
What will I learn?
• Why hot flushes and night sweats happen and what is going on in your body
• How stress and anxiety can make symptoms worse
• Practical techniques to calm your body's response in the moment
• Ways to improve sleep disrupted by night sweats
• How to manage symptoms at work and in daily life
• A personal plan you keep long after the programme ends
Will it work for me?
This programme suits any woman experiencing hot flushes and night sweats — whether occasional or relentless, on HRT or not. Many women combine it with HRT and find it works really well alongside. No prior knowledge needed.
1:1 or group?
Both cover exactly the same content. The 1:1 programme is private and moves at your pace. The group programme adds something extra — the reassurance of shared experience and the connections that naturally form when women come together around the same thing.
Scope note — please read before booking
The programme is currently delivered in person. I feel group-based learning works best face to face — the shared experience, the real conversations and the human connection all add to the process in ways that matter. Online delivery is something I am looking at for the future. If distance is a challenge, please reach out and we can talk through what might be possible.
Both programmes cover exactly the same content — the difference is in the experience and the pace.
The 1:1 programme is private — just you and me. Sessions are shorter and move at your own pace — ideal if you prefer a confidential setting or simply learn better one to one.
The group programme runs with a small number of women. Many people find that sharing the experience with others going through the same thing adds real value — the connection, the conversations and the sense of not being alone are all part of what makes it work.
Not sure which is right for you? Just get in touch and I will help you decide.
Both therapies are suitable for most adults, though there are some circumstances where it may not be appropriate or where I may need to talk through the best option for you. A brief health consultation is always carried out before your first session to make sure everything is right for you. If you have any health concerns or are unsure whether a therapy is suitable, please get in touch before booking — I am happy to have that conversation.
All services at Aroma Therapie Suite are available to women aged 18 and over.
A brief health consultation is carried out before every first appointment — this is a professional requirement and is always in your best interests. Please mention any health conditions, allergies or skin sensitivities at this point, even if you are unsure whether they are relevant. There are some circumstances where a treatment may not be appropriate or where adaptations may be needed — I will always be honest and clear with you about what is suitable for you personally.
I do not currently offer reflexology, aromatherapy massage or self-care workshops during pregnancy. If you are pregnant and looking for complementary therapy support, please speak to your GP or midwife who will be able to advise on appropriate options.
If you have any questions about suitability before booking, please just get in touch — I am always happy to have that conversation
Reflexology, aromatherapy massage and self-care workshops are not currently available during pregnancy or for women who are actively trying to conceive. Working safely with pregnant women and those trying to conceive requires additional specialist training that I am not yet in a position to offer — and I believe it is important to be honest about that rather than work outside my current scope.
If you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or unsure whether a treatment is suitable for you at this time, please speak to your GP or midwife who can advise on appropriate options. I am also happy to have a conversation before you book if you have any questions.
Why pregnancy requires specialist training for aromatherapy massage:
Many essential oils are contraindicated during pregnancy — including commonly used oils such as clary sage, rosemary, jasmine, peppermint and others
The list of safe oils changes at different stages of pregnancy — first trimester restrictions are particularly significant
Massage techniques, pressure and positioning all require significant adaptation during pregnancy
The systemic absorption of essential oils through the skin means the risks are not just topical — they affect the mother and potentially the developing baby
IFA standards specifically require additional specialist qualification before offering aromatherapy treatments to pregnant clients
Why trying to conceive also requires caution:
Certain essential oils known as emmenagogues — including clary sage, rosemary and juniper — can stimulate uterine contractions and affect the uterine lining, which is a significant concern during the implantation window
Some reflexology techniques that stimulate reproductive reflex points require particular care when a client is actively trying to conceive
The hormonal sensitivity of this period means that both treatments carry risks that require specialist knowledge to manage safely
Both AoR and IFA guidelines reference trying to conceive as an area requiring additional care and training
There is no special dress code — just wear something comfortable that you can relax in. For a foot reflexology session you will only need to remove your shoes and socks. If you are having hand reflexology, no clothing needs to be removed at all. For facial reflexology, it is helpful if you can arrive with your makeup already removed, or allow a few minutes at the start of your appointment to do so.
I am a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of clinical experience, regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). I hold a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Safety and Health and a Postgraduate Certificate in Practice Nursing.
My CBT programme is delivered following specialist training with the British Menopause Society (BMS) — the UK's leading professional body for menopause care — and is delivered in line with NICE guidance (NG23).
For reflexology I hold a VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Reflexology and am a registered member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR), working within the AoR's professional code of practice at all times.
For aromatherapy I am a qualified with VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy and C&G level 3 in Body massage, as well as associate member of the International Federation of Aromatherapists (IFA), working within IFA professional standards and code of ethics.
I hold full professional indemnity and public liability insurance across all services.

CANCELLATION POLICIES — COPY & PASTE
CBT Programme
The full programme fee is paid in advance to secure your place. If you are unable to attend the programme at all, a full refund is available provided you give at least 4 weeks notice before the programme begins. Inside 4 weeks, the fee is non-refundable — but a transfer to a future programme date will always be considered where possible.
If you miss an individual session within the programme, no refund applies for that session — but your place is kept and the programme continues as planned. In exceptional circumstances please just get in touch as soon as you can and I will do my best to help.
Reflexology & Aromatherapy Massage
I ask for at least 48 hours notice to cancel or rearrange an appointment. We all have those days when things do not go to plan — so your first late cancellation or missed appointment will not be charged. After that, the full session fee applies for cancellations inside 48 hours or missed appointments without notice. Cancellations with 48 hours or more notice are always free to rearrange.
Self-Care Workshops
The full workshop fee is paid at booking. Because workshops are limited to just four people, each place is reserved specifically for you — and late cancellations leave very little opportunity to offer that place to someone else.
Cancellations with more than 4 weeks notice will receive a credit note for the full amount, valid for six months and redeemable against any Aroma Therapie Suite service. Cancellations inside 4 weeks or non-attendance on the day are non-refundable.
If you cannot make it, you are welcome to send someone in your place — just let me know at least 24 hours before so they can complete a brief health questionnaire ahead of the workshop.
In exceptional circumstances please just get in touch as soon as possible and I will always try to find a compassionate solution.
Health Talks
A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking. The balance is due 4 weeks before the event date. If you need to cancel within 4 weeks of the event, the full fee is due. For organisations booking workplace talks, please get in touch directly to discuss arrangements specific to your organisation.
Applies to all services:
In exceptional circumstances I will always try to find a compassionate solution — please just get in touch as soon as possible and we can talk it through.
You can get in touch using the contact form on the website, by phone or by email. For reflexology and aromatherapy massage, your booking is not confirmed until I have been in touch with you directly — so once you submit your request, I will reach out for a quick chat to make sure everything is right for you before confirming your appointment.
For the CBT programme, health talks and self-care workshops, simply send me your details and I will get back to you to talk through the options and next steps before anything is confirmed.
Nothing is booked until you hear back from me — so please look out for my message.
The short answer — come as you are.
There is no dress code at Aroma Therapie Suite and no special preparation required. Here is a quick guide depending on what you are coming for:
CBT programme or health talk — just bring yourself, something to write with and an open mind. Comfortable clothing is always a good idea, but smart, casual or straight-from-work is absolutely fine. A cuppa before you arrive never goes amiss either.
